Hellfest

Hellfest Open Air was founded in 2006 in Clisson, a medieval town in the Loire-Atlantique department of western France. Despite its relatively recent founding compared to Wacken or Download, Hellfest has rapidly ascended to become one of Europe’s most respected and beloved metal festivals.

The festival operates six stages simultaneously across its grounds, offering a staggering breadth of programming from classic heavy metal and rock legends on the Main Stages to extreme underground acts on the dedicated Altar and Valley stages.

Hellfest’s distinctive visual identity — medieval architecture, skulls, fire, and elaborate stage productions — creates an atmosphere unlike any other festival in the world.
