Tuska Open Air
About
Tuska Open Air Metal Festival (tuska means “pain” or “agony” in Finnish) has been held annually in Helsinki since 1998. What makes Tuska unique among European metal festivals is its urban location — the festival grounds are situated in Suvilahti, just minutes from Helsinki city centre, meaning attendees can combine the festival experience with exploring Finland’s vibrant capital.
The festival celebrates Finland’s extraordinary metal heritage — the country with more heavy metal bands per capita than anywhere else in the world — while also welcoming major international acts. Tuska regularly sells out and has become one of the most anticipated events in the Nordic metal calendar.
Finnish bands frequently feature prominently in the lineup, making Tuska an essential destination for anyone wanting to understand the depth and diversity of the Finnish metal scene.
